I’m a mama, wife, huntress & small business owner from a small town in southwestern Ontario.
My two littles are absolutely everything and I love them so much!
I love living the small town, outdoor, adventure life with my family. We spend most of our time outdoors. Hunting, fishing, foraging, gardening, nature walks & recreationally shooting our bows are just some of the ways we enjoy nature.
I started hunting 10 years ago, when I met my husband. No one in my family hunts. Not that anyone is opposed to hunting, just no one was a hunter. Not even my grandparents, which is actually surprising in a rural area.
So did they think I had lost my mind when I told them I wanted to start hunting? YES!
But they also support my choices, and now lucky for them, they get to enjoy wild game meat.
I have been so lucky to have my husband along side to teach me & encourage me as I learned A LOT about hunting, wildlife management & conservation.
In the past 2 years as I have started to feel more confident as a hunter, I decided to venture out on my own for Solo Turkey hunts. Hubby and I take turns hunting & staying home with the kids. And we have each been fortunate enough to harvest a spring turkey on our solo hunts.
This was a huge triumph for me to hunt, harvest, retrieve and process a bird on my own.
In all this, I have learned so much and part of my passion is to ‘pay it forward’.
I want to help women get outdoors. I’ve learned & grown so much in the outdoors and I want more women (& kids!) to experience all that hunting offers.
Heritage By Nature is doing amazing things getting women outdoors. Teaching & guiding them to learn in a fun & safe environment. And I’m honoured to get to be a part of that.
